Jaron Winder is like a stampin' super-star... when I first saw him at the February 2005 Milwaukee Regional Convention I thought he was froot-loops. But he soon had me in stitches with his ridiculous running commentaries while he stamped the most incredible projects! This picture was taken at the Milwaukee Regional in April 2008 (they swore they'd never again come to Wisconsin in February. I don't know what their problem was--it was only -17 that day!) Anyway, lots of warm fuzzy memories that day as I had along four of my downline and one adopted demo, and we had a total blast learning new techniques, getting ideas for our businesses, and playing with our new FREE stamps!.
Jane won one of the door prizes, which was the totally cute Time For You set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I also had altered lunch boxes with matching goodies inside for everyone, using my favorite inspirational set Live Your Dreams (unfortunately retired now). I will NEVER part with that set! In fact I stamped it on my craft room wall next to where I put up the words "dream big" in our new wall vinyl line, Decor Elements. I love the way it turned out. I will have to post about that next!
Laura G and Michelle S had never met before but really hit it off. I just love how everyone in our group is actually friends. Seriously, the chartered bus ride there and back was one of the highlights of the day. Not only did we not have to face traffic and parking in downtown Milwaukee, we had an insane amount of fun for almost two extra hours altogether. It just reinforced to me that the best part of being a demonstrator is not how much fun it is or how much money you make or how many trips and awards you receive, but the friendships you form with your up-down-and-side-lines and how your customers turn into friends.
This next photo is of me next to my card on one of the display boards. It is so validating to know that someone thinks your stuff is good enough to be shown to other demos as a sample! And of course it has turquoise in it... both me and the card! If you know me you know how nuts I am about that color. I'm pleased as punch with the gorgeous new Baja Breeze In Color.
Oops, gotta run--the UPS truck just arrived! Whoo hoo!!!
I got to have my picture taken with Jaron too. I put it on one of the scrapbook pages I did from the Regional. And it was so fun meeting you and so many others from SCS. Welcome to the blogging world!
