I really like this easy set Garden Greetings from the new Spring/Summer catalog. As soon as I saw it I thought it was great--and when I got it later during the Conference for FREE at Manager's Recpetion, I was very pleased to cross one thing off my fast-growing wish list already! I love everything I have made with it thus far.
This project was a Make N Take at my Rubber Rummage sale last night. It's super quick and easy to make, yet showcases an unusual and fun white-on-black technique. I used Pixie Pink for the base and Pink Passion for the scalloped edges. Then I stamped the flowers randomly using Whisper White Craft ink on Basic Black cardstock. I stamped the smallest flower in Basic Black on Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with my one-inch circle punch (musta been in a hurry, because I see it's crooked!).
Adding a black brad to the flower center gave it a little bling, and popping it up with a dimensional gave it some added interest. Finally I put it all together and stamped the greeting on the bottom in Basic Black so it's easily read against the bright pink background.
You could kick this up a notch by embossing the flowers with Whisper White EP... by adding a Rhinestone Fire brad to the flower center... by running the cardfront through with a Texturz Plate before assembly, or by blind embossing a dot or paper piercing in each of the scallops. Take a card from zero to WOW in about two minutes!
