Long story very short, Lyssa is without a Big Shot this week (boo hoo!) and so I've been rediscovering some old-fashioned stamping without my fancy tools... good ol' heat embossing. I tend to heat emboss more at Christmas anyway, when I "get my glam on" with all the silver and gold inks, cord, embossing powders and rhinestones. Even glitter... and of course, shimmer spray!
These cards were all made with odds and ends from my scrap bucket. I just pulled out pieces I thought might be cool and embossed them in Sterling Silver with the Serene Snowflakes set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.
I especially like them on the Rich Razzleberry CS above, but my second fave was the Basic Black on below. Wouldn't that be too cool for a Christmas card? The sentiments are from a now-retired inspirational Christmas set I will never part with, called Star-Studded Season. When you come over to play next time, you can borrow it!
I tried to get super close to this one so you could see the shimmer spray. This card was SO QUICK--you could whip out a lot of these in nothing flat. Call me if you need to order the fixin's--Brilliant Blue cardstock and ink, clear rhinestone brads, silver cord, silver EP, and Shimmer Spray!
If you've tried heat embossing in the past and not been impressed, well, try it with Stampin' Up's awesome embossing powders and super-hot Heat Tool, and it will open your eyes to a whole new world!
Beautiful! I'll definitely try making some of these! Thanks for the ideas.
