I have been dying to show these off, but wanted to keep my downline gifts a secret until our party, which was today. The party was awesome--I'll post the ten shoebox swap projects and other photos here soon--and now that the cat is out of the bag, so to speak, I can show you what I made!
This is the Holiday Origami Box by talented demonstrator Martha Stewart of Florida. I got it off the Stampin' Up demonstrator website from a page full of fantastic ideas sent in from demos all over the country for a special challenge. I am really glad Martha took the time to enter this project, because it is atrociously adorable and makes you just grin from ear to ear when you open it.
I made one for every single one of my ladies plus the "non-related" demos who came to the party, and each time I finished one up, it just made me smile! I love the way the box splits open in the center and the two halves open up to reveal a standing box in the center. On the inside of each side I put the Song of My Heart Stampers Mission Statement and a personal note from me, since this project replaced a Christmas card from me this year.
I should have photographed one of the candles by itself. I found that you can bend Hodgepodge Hardware to curve around the glass jar--pretty cool looking. So each of the candles (Partylite's Champagne Pear Mini Barrel Jars) has a Real Red wide grosgrain ribbon belly band with a Hodgepodge Hardware frame on it and they can change the label out with the seasons if they want to.
You did a beautiful job on these. I sure your girls were thrilled with them. I am going to attempt so we'll see how it goes.
