I've had the privilege of having projects of mine displayed on Stampin' Up board before, but I've definitely never had a whole board just for me! Ginger got all artsy with this one. She's so funny. I sure appreciate her taking these photos.
My first project was this one done with the Manhattan Flowers texture folder for the Big Shot. I am so excited that Pink Pirouette is coming back/ It looks awesome with Soft Suede! It takes a little time for this one to dry, but the end results are very worth it, I think. You just use the needle nose tip on the Crystal Effects bottle to spread the CE thinly in all the wells of the card.
My main project was this "Hannah Montana" card. I showed how you can mix the glitter into the Crystal Effects and use it to "frost" chipboard, pressing punches and embellishments into the still-wet mixture and allowing it to harden. It takes less time than you'd think, because the chipboard soaks up the moisture and speeds drying time.
This vintage Eiffel Tower card is one of the Make N Takes for my downline Karen's Workshop of a Lifetime team meeting on the 15th. Can't wait! I used Crystal effects to fill in the Hodgepodge Hardware to make an enamel charm.
Here's a pretty card done with the Elements of Style stamp set in the upcoming Summer Mini catalog. The Crystal Effects doesn't show up quite as well in this photo, but it's in dots along the scallop trim border.
CE even works on guy cards, as you can see! I used it to make the tape measure pop on this Totally Tool card. And yep, that's real duct tape!
I've shared these two before, but they're worth another look. Dots are my favorite way to quickly kick a card up a notch or draw attention to a focal point. And sprinkling a smidge of Dazzlin' Diamonds over the Crystal effects was so easy, but made this Christmas card really stand out.
Here's the retirement card that I showed as my final technique. There's real fine grain sand mixed into Crystal effects and spread on with a popsicle stick on my little beach and punch art sandcastle. It dries on there so hard and permanently that you can't scratch it off with your fingernail. Very cool!
So there you go--I had about six other projects that didn't make the cut, for one reason or another, and a couple of scrapbook pages, but all in all I was pretty happy with the amount of WOW I was able to squeeze into the time allotted. I hope you have gained a new appreciation for all the amazing things you can do with Crystal Effects. If you don't have a demo, I'd be happy to be of service to you anytime--just ask!
Happy Stamping!
Lyssa,
I was at the Milwaukee Regional and you were fabulous! I was so excited to learn you'd be presenting as I've been following your blog for awhile and love your work.
I attended with my upline and my 1 downline and we were all WOWed with what you did with Crystal Effects. My upline has been a demo for 10 years and she can't wait to try your techniques for herself!
We thought all of the demonstrator presenters were great and gave us plenty of WOW, so thanks for agreeing to do it and keep up the good work!
