Here's a totally random card I made the other day (along with a big mess). I had stamped this tree while designing a different card for a workshop, and ended up not using it. I have a hard time throwing perfectly good things away (evidenced by my precariously stacked stamp room) so I decided to make something right then and there.
When I colored it (Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an Aquapainter) it just seemed to cry out for the heavy clear embossing powder we used to carry, called Glassy Glaze. I used up my remaning stash on this card, so then I was in too deep to back out.
You can get a similar effect with several layers of Crystal Clear EP, but that's more work. And it doesn't crack as nicely as Glassy Glaze does when you bend it. However, it makes much less of a mess because it's so much finer grained. It looked like a snowball fight had happened in the stamp room by the time I turned off the heat tool!
I always rub Chocolate Chip Craft ink in the cracks to make them stand out and age the piece. It's a cute little thing... I then turned around and made a custom envelope for it, which turned out truly horrible, and very unworthy of a photo. So I might make this little guy into a tiny piece of art instead and hang him in my kitchen. I just have to find a teeny weeny square frame.... IKEA road trip, anyone?
Very cool! And since I've never been to an Ikea, I'll bite!

You are TOO funny. I save all my 'scarfs' and cast-offs too; I keep them in an XL stamp case. Lexus likes to look through it for stuff to add to her own creations.
Thanks for the distressing tip; I'll try that next time.
