It's snowin' to beat the band outside as I type this. It's looked like spring for the last two months, so of course, NOW, here comes winter. Goofy weather! I'm going to go get my kids from school and then batten down the hatches. Good night for homemade potato soup and cornbread, I think!
This scrapbook layout was done for the Creative Crew Challenges over at Splitcoaststampers. I have sure enjoyed my 4-month stint in the spotlight as one of their guest designers. They are taking applications now for the next 4 months, so if you love SCS and enjoy challenges, be sure to apply! if they let me in, they'll let anybody. : )
I love the new Blossom punch, and I love daffodils, and after I learned this cool tip at Leadership Conference about folding all the petals in to make a really cool-looking center, I was pleased to be able to combine the two. I am trying and trying to remember what demo friend shared that idea--if it was you, please leave a comment so I can give you credit, you clever thing!
TIP: (confession time) the headline looks really cool, right? Well, it's to cover a mistake! So many of my "good ideas" are covering up some goof or other of mine! I stamped the initial headline right on the cardstock background, and when I was all done, it slanted noticeably upwards (because I was too lazy to use my Stamp A Majig). I wanted it to be random, but not THAT random, you know? Cutting out a couple of the individual letters with extra cardstock around them helped me raise and lower parts of the headline AND make it look like I did it on purpose instead of an accident.
Easter is around the corner, whether it looks like spring outside or not. We'll be making this project and two others at our next Scrap A Stack Class on the 15th, so RSVP right away!
Two of the reasons I keep coming back to your blog are: you are soooooooooo down to earth (and heart)and you are FULL of excellent creativity across so many areas (paper, fabric, etc.) TFS, debra

I always tell my stampers, "There are no mistakes in stamping...just opportunities for embellishment!" Sometimes you end up creating something in a way you never thought of before! Your headline looks awesome!
