Yayayayayay! We did it! 31 Pages in 31 Days is officially accomplished. I hope you have just loved all the creative inspiration during the month of August 2012, and if you are just seeing this post for the first time somewhere down the road, be sure to look in the archives and see the entire set of 31 posts.
I wanted to finish on a high note! So I actually have SIX PROJECTS to share. I know--over-achiever!!
Today's page is a super fun grunge-themed layout with all sorts of interesting elements to it. We have techniques: stamping, tearing, sponging, spatter, direct-to-paper, sewing; We have fibers and metals: muslin cloth, seam binding, cotton sewing thread, linen thread, stitched grosgrain, petwer brads and a pewter jumbo eyelet. And we have a fun and easy layout, for which I have a sketch! All the photo boxes are 3 inches square.
I absolutely adore this stamp set because I am a total Anglophile. England is where I want to go more than anywhere else in the world! I've been on English soil on two separate occasions but only for layovers, and the one time we did manage to get out of the airport, it was at night, so everything was closed. We did get to see the Underground, Big Ben, the outside of Buckingham Palace, met two bobbies in uniform, and had fish n' chips at a little shop before zipping back to catch our flight (obviously this was pre-9/11.) It was absolutely tantalizing for this history nerd. I really reeeeeeallly hope Stampin' Up takes me there someday!
Never heard of the "Keep Calm and Carry On" World War 2 poster? Click here for a short YouTube video that explains the circumstances and history behind this iconic symbol of the resilience and fortitude of the English people. The stamp set is available as a hostess exclusive, so if you want it, you need to call me ASAP and get a party on the calendar--or go to www.lyssa.stampinup.net and have a little book party with your friends. It's on page 203 of the 2012-13 Catalog, and it's only $14 in wood and $10 in clear.
I love this saying so much, I made this 5x7 photo frame for my house... the sentiment is just so perfect for today. Bombs might not be literally falling on our houses like they were on England back then, but there is much to be anxious about these days. The saying echoes the sentiment of many of my favorite Bible verses--be still and just trust God. If you really like the vintage frame and saying, I can make you one for $20 plus shipping. Just email me for details at [email protected].
Ok, we're officially DONE with 31 Pages in 31 Days! I know, it kinda makes you sad.... but try to keep calm and carry on. It will be ok! And don't worry--I have ridiculous amounts of fun planned for you in September. Honestly, I am besotted with my job--where else would let me play with paper and stamps all day and party all night? There is not enough time in the world to make all the cute things I have seen. So here's the deal--I'll keep working my behind off making fun, FREE things to inspire you (like the other Keep Calm projects below), and you leave a comment now and again so I know I'm not talking to the atmosphere. Deal? Deal!!
Thank you so much for all the inspiration you share! I really, really, appreciate it!

That statement is what I really need to repeat to myself today! Your post on this and your wonderful projects have happened at a perfect moment for me :) Nothing serious is going on....just a lot of little life things that came too many at one time for this easily overwhelmed gal!
I should take inspiration from your awesome work and go hide with my stamps and ink :)

I ended up with 42 pages for August! Thanks for the push to get me back into the groove of scrapbooking. With another grandchild on the way I have to get caught up or I'll never be on track with the new grandchild. It's been fun.

Thanks for the month full of inspiration! Now if I could only sit long enough to stamp a little... :)

My favorite saying too :) I have a HUGE mug at work for my tea that has this on it, and everyone smiles when they see me drinking out of it. Everybody knows that saying is "me" & if I start to get frazzled, someone will run & get my mug & say "Remember your motto!". We have a lot of fun at my job - not QUITE as much fun as my Stampin' Up! job - but pretty close! I feel blessed.
LOVE your blog, as always - you know I follow you every day, gf!!

Amazing finish to a fantastic series! You know I am always here viewing your blog, I feel like I post too much! But, if you insist, I'll give you a holla when I am visiting!

Never fear, Lyssa Dear! I am always here to check what you've been up to! You are my guaranteed spot for beauty and smiles every day!
Also, I think I need to adopt that motto for my classroom. It's more for me than the kids...a reminder to keep calm in the midst of my crazy kindergarten life would be a good thing, methinks.
