It's that time again!! Do you have plans for your Valentine this year? Mike reads my blog now and again so I probably won't give him this particular one, although he is who I had in mind when I was making it. He's always on my mind! Have you SEEN him? He's gorgeous! Wait, wait, don't go looking under "Family News" for photos. I don't want you to be too jealous.
And I was abominably cranky for no good reason this whole weekend, and he was so sweet about it. I need to make him one of THOSE cards from the new "Dude, You're Welcome" kit for guys... a big apology!
TIP: I really like the new "chalkboard" look that Stampin' Up has been right on trend with, and a great stamp set for that technique (done with white embossing on black cardstock, then rubbed with the barest amount of Whisper White Craft Ink to simulate chalk dust) is Vintage Verses. And BONUS--Vintage Verses is FREE right now with any $50 order! It's available in clear mount or wood mount as a Sale A Bration 2013 reward choice. It's my favorite SAB reward stamp set, hands down!
Now, WHERE did I get that divine Real Red heart-shaped doily, you ask? I got sixteen of them (and sixteen more in Primrose Petals) in the More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper pack (#129309) from the Occasions Catalog (page 10). It comes with 10 different patterns and two sheets of laser-cut heart-shaped doilies. Reminds me of the fabulous now-retired Flirtatious speciality papers with their wonderful sheets of doilies (available on the Clearance Rack for less than half price right now, by the way!)
Loving the crispness of Pool Party against the drama of the Real Red and neutral grays and vanilla. Who votes for Pool Party to become part of the regular color line during the next Color Renovation? I do!! I want Wisteria Wonder to stay, too! But for now, these 2011-13 In Colors are available through the end of May. On June first we'll get another set of trendy new In Colors for 2013-15.
I love the way Stampin' Up is able to stay on top of papercrafting trends with the In Color system. What hot new colors do you hope will make it into the newest collection of five? I would love a pale buttery version of Summer Starfruit!
This chalkboard technique is so amazing looking! Tomorrow I'm spending the day crafting and I'll have to try this. The ladies I stamp with every month would love this!
