Pink and brown for Easter? I know, I know, it's pretty non-traditional! But I like it. I was thinking about dogwood blossoms when I came up with it. I used Early Espresso and Pink Pirouette for these two Easter Blessings cards I made using the Fabulous Florets and Crosses of Hope stamp sets.
It's hard to see in the photos, but there is a subtle filagree cross above and to the right of the greeting. The blossoms are hand-cut and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals so they really shine. There's also a thin application of Shimmer Spray you can't see here, painted on by hand with a paintbrush so it is only on the blooms and nowhere else. Quite pretty!
My original card was this one with no sponging. I made a smudge on my second one, as often happens, and sponged the edges to cover it up. Then I couldn't decide which I liked better--the vintage look of the sponged one, or the clean crispness of the unsponged one. What do you think?
