Last night was one of the annual events I look forward to most during the year--my Hostess Appreciation reception. This year every one who had hosted a workshop or private class in their home during the 2012-13 catalog year received a handmade invitation to come to the Upper Krust Pie Shoppe in Watertown for marvelous goodies and free projects as a token of my gratitude for the part they have played in my business. I forgot to take photos during the evening but I did snap these before everyone came, so that's something!
After years of working against the decor in the Upper Krust's private room, I finally got smart and worked it into my decor. The colors were sage green, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Crisp Cantaloupe and Very Vanilla. I used First Edition newsprint-patterned Designer Series Paper and the new Epic Day papers from the This N That line, along with some fun washi tape.
The centerpieces were newsprint cones secured with washi tape and filled with country flowers. I had a lot of floral bits from a Tuscany-themed banquet I did a couple of years back, that went perfectly with the room decor.
Here are the cards we made. The theme for the evening was "All Dolled Up," and we made a stepped-up version (shown below) of the All Dolled Up Birthday Kit that is available to order while supplies last.
It was a super nice evening and I loved getting to spoil my hostesses with free pie, free projects, and free product! If you did not get an invitation this year, you can remedy that by booking a workshop or private class at your house for the new catalog. There are exciting reasons to host a show for every month of the year--June for the new catalog--July for exciting new techniques learned at Convention--August for the Holiday mini catalog--September for the back to school specials--October for Christmas cards--the list goes on and on. I have my calendar ready and waiting to pick a date for you and your friends--call me today! (920) 261-3962 or email: zwolaneks@att.net
Lyssa - it all looked so beautiful! Wow! You are one generous and supportive lady. I would love to borrow this idea and although I am not certain that I will do it the same justice (you have set the bar really high). I will make every attempt to make it as special for my hostesses and others who have hosted classes - I love the idea of it being a recognition for a year's worth of events. Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring.
