Oooh! I almost forgot to post a page today! I know it's probably inevitable that I will miss a day during a month-long blog series, but so far, so good, and I hate to break my winning streak! I hope you're enjoying all the scrapbooking inspiration this month at Song of My Heart. I sure am having a ball!
Yesterday on the 31 Pages in 31 Days Facebook Group I posted a poll to see where everyone was on their page count... most everyone was thrilled with their progress thus far, and felt like the 31-page challenge was very doable! If you're playing along, be sure to leave a comment sharing your own progress.
I love the way the stair-step journalling boxes turned out on this page. I originally had them in a straight ladder marching up the page, but as I played around with the layout the boxes got jostled and I liked it! Same thing with the punched out flowers--originally I had them lined up very symmetrically, but if you place them asymmetrically, they packed a lot more punch and really drew the photo mat, journalling boxes, and embellishments all together for a more visually pleasing look.
This page is for next week's Scrapbooking Summer School class, and it part of a top-secret homework assignment that I'll be sharing after we meet on Thursday! They are gonna love it!
For those of you playing at home, I've been told you need a bit more detail on the pages, and I'm happy to oblige when possible. This page has a Blushing Bride base, with a patterned paper from the versatile Just Add Cake birthday-themed Designer Series Paper (only available while supplies last! Click here to view). The silver Flourish Frames came from the Clearance Rack and were attached with silver Mini Brads. The photo mat and four journalling boxes are Strawberry Slush, and so is the ink. The stamp sets I used are Fabulous Phrases and Mixed Bunch. Mixed Bunch is one of those amazing sets that has a matching punch!! So I used the Blossom Punch plus the 1 inch circle punch for the flowers, easy peasy.
See you tomorrow for a boy page you'll flip over!
Very pretty! I love the staggered elements also.
