Tonight is week three of Scrapbooking Summer School. I am soooo excited! I just finished making up the packets, and I think everyone is going to be totally tickled, especially with the final homework assignment this week. I'll share more about that tomorrow!
I can't wait to see what everyone did with the homework challenge this week--turning old cardfronts into pages. Some have posted theirs to the 31 Pages in 31 Days Facebook group (free and open to everyone, by the way--just request to join!) so I have had a glimpse of how much they enjoyed this assignment. I have been, too! Here's a page I pulled together using a stunning sample card from an Australian demonstrator friend, Debbie Yeomans. Their cards are a little taller and narrower that cards in the States, and it didn't fit well in my sample basket or display board, so--onto a scrapbook page instead!
I tried to continue her circle theme in addition the the cute color scheme she used of Vanilla, Basic Black and Primrose Petals. I added a Silver Glimmer Paper heart, a ruched strip of newsprint paper, and a Build A Brad. Debbie used reinker and Crystal Effects to great use on her Simply Pressed clay flower, and turned it into a wonderful focal point.
Everything seen here (virtually everything on my blog, in fact) is available to purchase from Stampin' Up through my shopping website, www.lyssa.stampinup.net/shopnow. I'd be so pleased to be your demonstrator and help you with your papercrafting needs, if you don't already have an active, enthusiastic local one!
And if you do place an order by August 31st during 31 Pages in 31 Days, and use the hostess code
That's not our code in the photo, mind you--
be sure to use
I hope you've enjoyed my mini-series on incorporating cards into layouts during my big-series featuring 31 Pages in 31 Days. If you're participating from home, please leave me a comment--it encourages me so much to know all my hard work is inspiring crafters all over the world. See you tomorrow!
What a gorgeous layout, I love it.

Just noticed the newsprint paper had the word kangaroo on it, how appropriate.

I have a new co-worker this week and she is participating in her first triathelon over Labor Day. She heard that I like to make cards and asked if I did scrapbooking. I told her no and she looked a little crestfallen - she was wanting to do something fun with photos from this event. Oh, what do I get myself into? I really like this layout. So, maybe we can adapt to something here. I am not sure what her colors of her outfit are, I guess I need to find that out. Anyway, thanks for all your inspiration!

I Love this page and want to recreate it! Can you tell me what you used for the circles, are they the new circle framelits?

They are the 3 inch and 3.5 inch circle Bigz dies for the Big Shot, Jennifer! Though the new Circle Collection Framelits would be perfect!
