I'm so excited to share today's scrapbook page! There are times when I clap my hands all by myself in my stamp room because something has just been so fun and I'm in gleeful anticipation of sharing it. That's the best part of my job!
Ready to see the page that inspired the giddiness? Here's a fun basketweave layout!
Talk about using up scraps! I sure did on this one. This is a Blushing Bride 12x12 cardstock base, with three, 2x12 inch strips of Strawberry Slush running horizontally from edge to edge. I wove three 3x10 inch strips of Whisper White vertically through those, then added two vertical 1/2x8.5-inch Pool Party strips on either side. The splash of auqa helps cool the "hot" tones of the pinks, plus throw the eyes back towards the photos.
I finished off my basketweave with a scattering of butterfly punches made from scraps of printed Designer Series Papers, and a headline from the Happy Day stamp set.
I'll be able to add photos on each of the larger exposed white areas, as well as include as much or as little journalling as I want to. What a fun way to use up scraps! I LOVE sharing tips and tricks and cool things that I have discovered while doing my job... which is inspiring (ok, ok, enabling) YOU! Best job ever!

Nice page and a great way to use up some of those long scraps that seem to pile up.

This is a very creative layout. You can have as many photos or as much journaling as you want. Love the basketweave style. Very inspiring.

Okay! You've convinced me. Time to start scrapping. Don't know if this is a "darn" or "yay"

Great layout idea. I can't believe I haven't seen anything like it before! I like the photo boxes as well as journaling squares. Very creative!

Awesome... I think you should do scrapbook layout months twice a year. Perhaps, again in February or March :)

I agree with Pam that this should be a twice a year thing. I love your pages and they inspire me to get going on my own:)

This is such a wonderful idea! Spaces for photos and journaling, all with a few pieces of cardstock (less cutting and measuring). Genius -- thanks for sharing!
