Happy Monday, everybody! And welcome back to 31 Pages in 31 Days, a unqiue challenge to get us back scrappin'! While you may not be able to work on pages every day this month, set yourself a goal to create 31 pages during August. You'll be so glad you did, when your scrapbooking mojo is back and you're happily creating once more. Treat yourself to a couple hours in the craft room!
Today's inspiration page is a single layout for a single photo. I don't do single-photo layouts very often, because usually I have at least a few pictures of an event, but every once in a while I wind up with a solitary photo that needs it's own page. I think this layout does a good job of bringing the eye to the center, then narrowing the focus further, and finally directing the eye to the mat.
TIP: one way to fill "white space" on a 12x12 layout with only one photo is to do some paper-piercing, with or without faux stitching, in the background. I used the new Ecelctic paper-piercing template that coordinates with the Star Framelits for the Sizzix Big Shot to pierce these double stars randomly around the perimeter of the page. They add tons of texture without too much busyness, and really went well with the Independence Day theme I had going on. Loving all our star options right now!

So, are you playing along? Leave a comment if you're scrapping this month, too, and if you've set yourself a challenge or deadline. There's power in numbers, and I feel encouraged knowing so many people are working towards a big, exciting goal with me! Be sure to tag your photos with the #31pagesin31days hashtag if you're posting to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, and when you search for that tag, yours and everyone else's pages will come up. Awesome way to get your stuff out there and gets lots of inspiration, too.
I wasn't going to play along, but when I got my Project Life kit in the mail I got all excited to scrapbook again and knew I didn't have to worry about where I was I could start wherever with whatever pics I wanted. I love it! Thank you for the added incentive to get these pages done :)

I'm back for the challenge. Although August is a busy month, will try to keep up and post. Mostly excited about Project Life because...sadly I'm still working on Disney and the PLXSU pages in between the main pages has been a life changing/time saver! Thank you for the extra push this gives us!!
