I made my first Christmas card of the season this week, for last night's demonstrator team meeting. We had a "fancy folds" theme for our sample swap this month, and I got some amazing ideas! I'll be sharing them ASAP with you all. This was my contribution to the swap, using the Circle Card Thinlets from Sizzix (an exclusive with Stampin' Up) and a brand new stamp set called Happy Scenes, that will be in the 2015 Holiday Catalog.
So this is the front... I had a stoke of GENIUS and used the new Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies (also a Stampin' Up exclusive!) for a layer in front of my snowy woods stamp, punching it with the same 2.5-inch circle punch so it matched my background image.
And here is the card when it is opened up, with the circle swung outwards to reveal the interior panel...
As soon as I saw Cucumber Crush, one of the season's hot new In Colors, I couldn't wait to pair it with classic Real Red for a trendy, modern take on Christmas colors. I also added the falling snow stamp in Pool Party ink. I love the crispness of the Cucumber Crush stripes. I used the In Color Envelope papers for that layer.
And did you spot two NEW embellishments on this card? That's right--new striped Real Red narrow ribbon, and new Iced Rhinestones. You are truly going to FLIP over the new Holiday Catalog! It should be in your mailboxes next week, if you are on my mailing list.
The whole thing folds perfectly flat for mailing, too, which is nice! And fits in an ordinary envelope.
Ok, now, let's talk turkey. You are going to want the majority of the Holiday Catalog. That's just a given. The VERY best way for your to get all that, at a nice discount, too, is to join my team as a Stampin' Up demonstrator. You can run it as a business or just a fun hobby, up to you.
If you're hesitant to make that leap just yet, well, let's get a party on the books, shall we? You can invite your friends and get together to make this fun card and more, and pool your orders for some nice host rewards. We can even make it a Facebook party and collect online orders if you prefer. Let's do this! Email me at Lyssa@songofmyheartstampers.com to get started.
I love the clean look of the diecut sleigh silhouette. And who would have thought that cucumber crush also could be a christmassy green?
