Here's some tricks to have up your sleeve to turn any sentiment stamps into the entire motif for your card. No images? No problem.
And PSST... welcome to post #2 showcasing our featured 2016 Sale A Bration set of the week, Perfect Pairings (wood-mount, cling-mount)! Today I have three no-images cards to share. The colors I used for these three examples are Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon, Bermuda Bay and the final one has a little dab of Pool Party. Colors are really important if you are creating a card that is all words and no images. The words have to be both the background and the focal point at the same time, and colors really help with that.
We'll just pretend I was a good girl and got out my Stamp A Majigg positioning tool and used it religiously to line up my words for this second card... ahem. The things you don't notice until the photo is edited and out there larger than life on the 17-inch screen right at eye level. I see I started the red line really well, not sure what happened in the middle there. Oh well! Now you all know I'm not perfect. SHOCKER!!
For the above card, instead of stamping a single word or phrase over and over vertically like the top one, I choose three different words/phrases and stamped each in their own line horizontally across the cardfront like a stripe. It's busy--but orderly, so it works.
When you're making a card with no images, resist the urge to fill up the whole cardfront with words. White space is our friend. If I'd stamped more than one line of "thank you" down the length of this card, it would have been WAY too busy. A single line with plenty of white on either side and the accenting punched circle frame are plenty.
Also, stamping my one different phrase "so much" in a different color helped it become the focal point even more than the embellishing did.
I hope you've gotten some cute ideas for cards you could make with your sentiment stamps. You don't even have to have cute image stamps to make great cards--just some fun colors and a whole lotta repetition! Thanks for stopping by. Now turn off the computer and go get in the craft room!
