The Open Sea: multi-shade masculine nautical card

I had to give this stamp set one last lovin' before it retires for good... This was an easy card we did for my Calendar Club here in Watertown. We meet once a month on the third Monday nights of the month to make cards, and we'd love to have you join us! we make 12 in one sitting, so they're not over-the-top--just good, solid cards. It's so satisfying to have a nice assortment in your card box to choose from when you need a card. Plus, masculine cards are no sweat at all when you're prepared in advance! I absolutely LOVE this card! Thank you for sharing. I also love this set. The colors go together so nicely. You could even make it without the embellishments and it would still look great.

I love these stamp sets and your card. When I have used these, I have made them in dark colors, and this is so refreshing. So I do have a question though - what technique did you use to create the shading and exactly how did you do it. I have tried so many ways, and all seem amateurish when I complete them. So don't hesitate to be very specific. Love your work!
