I guess I'm not done with this stunning color combo yet! Click here to see my original post: Flourish Thinlets Rock My World I had a big special order for these specific cards, and amazingly was still not tired of it when I finished. So I made these three cards from leftover bits and pieces from that order. Now I need to place an order because I'm totally out of Basic Black and Pool Party!
I like this sympathy card layout because it's elegant, yet understated. I prefer sympathy cards that are not showpieces of talent, but simple and meaningful, with the emphasis on the heartfelt message inside. The layout could be a gorgeous wedding card, however! And the handy new Triple Banner Punch makes it so easy to make banners in any length and width you desire.
Speaking of wedding cards... added in some Whisper White flowers and pearls to this deconstructed design. Not crazy about the card as a whole but I do love-love-love the black-on-black border, also from the Flourish Thinlets set.
Kind of went with a modified Split-Negative layout for this last "I love you" card. I could have created it vertically or horizontally, and each looked equally well, but eventually you DO have to glue things down and leave them alone, so it wound up being horizontally-oriented.
After I adhered the flourishes to the center piece, I ran it through the Big Shot with the Elegant Dots embossing folder to embed the die-cut into the base. It looks amazing in real life, although not so impressive in the photo. You should try it! It's called the inset embossing technique, and I have a photo tutorial for it here, and doily samples of it here and a patriotic version here.
So have I convinced you to try this color combo yet? I think you'll love the instant elegance! Now get off the computer and go get in the craft room. : )
