If you hang out here at Song of My Heart very much, you know I have a pretty clean and straightforward style. I like practical projects that are economical and uncluttered. But every once in a while... every once in a while I like to putz! Bring on the complicated punch art!
Actually this card wasn't too bad. The fireplace is made with Crumb Cake cardstock and the brick wall embossing folder. I used my Paper Trimmer to remove a square from the center front, sponged everything heavily, then flipped that removed piece upside down and put it back into the opening. It looks like the back wall of the fireplace! That was easy.
The fire itself is "logs" cut from strips of paper stamped with the Hardwood background stamp and sponged. The mantel is the same stamp, but run through the Brick Wall embossing folder as well. The flames are More Mustard and Cherry Cobbler scraps punched with the Festive Flower Builder Punch.
The cute stockings were the easiest part--stamped with the new Hang Your Stockings set, die cut with the Christmas Stockings Thinlets, sponged and popped up on dimensionals. I didn't have any matching twine so I'll be replacing that Emerald Envy stuff with a better color when my next order comes in. But I wanted to go ahead and share this card, because if you're going to make something a little fancier or more complicated for your Christmas cards, you want to get a good head start on the season, right?!
Do you know what you're going to make yet? I do! I fell in love with a card I made totally by accident, trying to use up leftovers. I'll be sharing it in my newsletter tomorrow when I share the latest September Special Offers... sign up to get it if you haven't already! You'll get a free set of Cheat Sheets Collection #1 when you do--no strings attached.
"See" you tomorrow!
Great card! I love your simple style, but this rocks too!!
