Needed a special card for my momma this week. It's been one of those "perfect storm" kinds of seasons for her, where multi-generational stresses are pulling from all directions. I can't do much about any of it except to work on my own health issues so she can stop worrying about ME so much--but I can PRAY and I can send cards. So that's what I'm doing.
I tried the new Stampin' Up watercolor pencils (coming January 4th!) for the first time and I do really like them, although I need practice. I overworked the area under the background flowers, so I had trouble blending there. And I will use Blender Pens instead of Aquapainters next time, because there was a LOT of water, too much for the Whisper White to soak up efficiently.
So--learning curve! But my mom makes cards, too, so she doesn't mind me trying new things on her : )
I did like the layout, and it was easy to do with the Layering Circles dies. I think the intense colors and big, bold flowers called for a clean boldness of design. Then I added a little spatter grunge to loosen it all up so it wasn't too serious.
Can't wait to play more with the watercolor pencils! I'll be sure to share when I do. Check back all this month for glimpse of other brand new products from the 2017 Spring Occasions Catalog... and let me know if you need one mailed to you!
