Have I got a treat to share today! I recently participated in a sample swap with my sweet Stampin' Up Advisory Board alumni sisters, and guess what? Great minds think alike, because three of them used the Star Blast Edgelit dies on their cards.
But what's really cool is, they're all totally different, and each has something fun to teach an observant crafter!
I love how this first one uses bright Real Red, tempered with a cool Pool Party aqua blue and a smattering of rhinestone sparkle. it's straightforward but the look is anything but simple. The extra "whahoo!" sentiment tied on with twine is a great, easy accent!
I got a surprise when I pulled the second one out of the Clear Envelope: this stamper included the punched-out stars leftover from the die as confetti inside her card! What a great idea! These Edgelits could also be useful for the fun extra stars created when you are die-cutting the main piece. And I also like how she paired the Edgelit with the starred flourish stamp from the Birthday Blast stamp set, designed to coordinate. (P.S.: Stampin' Up has bundled these together for a 10% savings! Available in Wood and Cling) They look SO cute together!
This last one (which I'm totally going to snag for Honor Flight cards for our team's annual service project!) uses a snazzy red, white and blue color scheme, and layers the Edgelit not once but twice for maximum depth and impact. Wow! I wish you guys could see how this one sparkles with all that Dazzlin' Diamonds Glimmer Paper.
So there we have it--lots of quick tips and ideas for the Birthday Blast stamp set and Star Blast Edgelit dies. Were they on your list before? They're deifnitely on mine, now!
I have some ideas for cutting it apart for jiggly cards... making a pop-up inside the card... frames for scrapbook layouts....oh goodness, I better order these NOW. I give in!!
Nice variety. I do love this bundle. It is so versatile.
