A lot of my friends love the trendy adult coloring books. I've never gotten the fascination myself, probably because the last 15 years of my life I've been stampin' and coloring away! I was coloring before it was cool : )
But I do understand the need for stress relief and the chance to just put your brain in neutral for a little while and do something of no consequence. The only decision you have to make is which colors to use. That's a welcome relief in the life of a modern adult!
Anyway, I was stressed yesterday and found myself deciding to color it out. I used the Paisleys & Posies stamp set with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp all over a sheet of Whisper White cardstock for some quick One-Sheet Wonder cards. Then I just dug in with a bunch of Stampin' Blends alcohol blending markers.
It was fun! Until it got a little boring... and then downright tedious! I don't have the patience to color a whole sheet of intricate images, turns out.
So, I quit, went ahead and cut up my "one-sheet wonder" into the card pieces I wanted, and intended to finish coloring each piece individually. But when I saw how this one had wound up, I loved it just as it was. A work in progress... vibrant color in the processing of bleeding into to a world formerly so black and white. And I had the perfect sentiment from Flourishing Phrases to go with a half-colored card.
So that's the story of how this card came to be. Thanks for stopping in to see what I've been up to this week! I'm just over in my corner, coloring away.
What a gift color is. I think we're even more grateful for it in winter, when the world bleaches out white against a pale winter sky. I hope you'll seize the chance to add color to your world today.
