I received a couple of very cool birthday cards from my friends Joni and Mary last week, and I couldn't wait to share them with you! Call me crazy, but I never would have thought to use the Painted With Love specialty foil-embossed papers like this!
Painted with love has some very large, watercolor-inspired patterns that make it great for scrapbooking, but might pose a challenge to cardmakers who are used to smaller prints. I adore what these ladies did with it!
I really like how the die-cut interrupts the big bold pattern and reduces it to something very cool visually. Gold is great, but it can be a bit much on a small card. This technique cut the legs off the brassiness and leaves the modern, painted elegance.
This one blows me away (I love butterflies!). Look at how the foil embossing, conveniently already on the paper, just shines in the light. These are the kinds of cards you turn this way and that in your hands, to catch the gleam. WOW.
Here's a quick run-down on how to get your hands on our SIX different foil-embossed paper packs, and what dies I think would work great for this technique.

Suddenly my brain is going, "oh my word! I need more of this paper!" instead of "what in the world am I going to use this paper for?" Don't these two cards just spark the ideas?
I can't wait to try this technique. Leave me a comment and let Joni, Mary and I know if you are going to try this awesome idea, too!
