You've successfully clicked on Day Three! Good for you! If you don't know why you're here, let me explain. My crafting BFF Penni and are are running a week-long series on last-minute "oh crud, Valentine's Day is coming" ideas for quick cards, home decor, classroom treats and more that you can whip up in a handmade hurry.
Today's projects will hit the spot even if you don't own a single stamp that says "Happy Valentine's Day!"
Got letters? If you have the Large Letters Framelits or the ability to stamp or die-cut big lettering, you've got everything you need to make a great Valentine. Spell anything you want, use red glimmer paper or a red and white color scheme, sub in a heart for a letter or two, and you're good to go.The Labeler Alphabet helps you finish off your sentiment however you'd like.
I made a masculine version of these Large Letters card that I love even more than the sparkly original.
Earth tones, wood textures, weathering and some upcycled cardboard come together in a fun way for this guy card.
I'm not great at free-handing a heart shape, so I stamped on the cardboard first, then peeled off one layer of the brown paper backing, and cut out my heart shape. Use liquid glue to adhere to cardfront--SNAIL is not intended for cardboard : )
I didn't like how sparkly my rhinestones were on this particular card, so I took a silver Sharpie and toned them down. Neat tip!
Eclipse technique in a nutshell: stamp all over your cardfront. Die cut your word. Back the cut-out sheet with another color of paper. Adhere the letters back down, slightly off-set from their original holes.
Use mini dimensionals so the letters pop up and show off the background. Cool! Look at all that fun texture.
Heart Happiness is a great set to use for making backgrounds, because it's clear photopolymer. So your placement is perfect, every time. Plus, you'll have a heart style for any occasion, with 14 different images!
Our last project for you today is a fun mini fold-out slash pop-up card! Sized for a Mini Envelope, this card packs a lot of unexpected fun in a small package. I wish you could see this in person. It is just darling.
All it takes is a 3x12 inch strip of Whisper White cardstock, scored at 2, 4, 6.5 and 9 inches. It accordion-folds into a fun little panel card you can spell any three or four letter word on. We just love tiny cards! Isn't it cute?? These are for hand-delivery, though! They're too small for the mail.
What?! You're ready for more?! Well, we are, too, but we'll all have to wait for tomorrow. See you on Day Four... if Penni and I don't consume all the candy before we get these treats packaged and photographed! #oops #wedidtitagain
