I have had basically zero time to play in the stamp room this week as my poor baby messed up her ACL on Saturday and we've had all sorts of appointments and therapy taking up tons time and screwing up her schoolwork. It just so hard to go anywhere--let alone fast.
But she's gaining strength and flexibility and we're all hoping for a more normal week ahead... say a prayer for Natalie if you would. She's my brave girl, but this has thrown her for a loop. I promised her I wouldn't show any pictures : )
I almost didn't share this card because it didn't turn out as cute as I'd hoped in my head. I do love the way the long vine makes a great frame, but I think I oversponged it, don't you? And maybe the center floral piece is a little too big?
I also didn't like the way I scored the wooden strip and when I turned it over, the lines didn't match the grain of the wood. I think I'd better do that part overn entirely!
Wow, maybe I really shouldn't have shared this one : ) But I do like the stamp set (A LOT) so stay tuned for (hopefully) cuter cards to come!
Well, I think it looks good! The center floral piece is proportioned just right.

Nice card! My opinion—sponging is fine, but center piece needs to be a bit smaller! (I just spent last evening redoing four cards that had too big of a center focal section; now I am happy with them!). I’m glad you shared your card!

I like your card. Kind of shabby chic. The scoring lines aren't perfect, but it's hand made. I try to give myself a bit of leeway. We are not hallmark and don't want to be. Glad you shared the card. But I do know what you mean about self criticism . We are often too hard on ourselves. I love the white-on-white cut out strip on the right of the flower. Stand proud on this card!

Hi Lyssa! Just FYI I think you did a great job on this card! I love it just as it is!

The funny thing is, I didn't notice any of those "flaws". I think we all just get a little too critical of our own craft/art work. I like the card and I'm just thinking how I can present it to my class, to make it easy for them. Thanks for sharing your creation.
