Love that gingham is in again... I'll take a sheet in every color, please! I'm really enjoying the black and white gingham print in the new Botanical Butterfly paper pack. Who knew gingham goes so good with butterflies? But they REALLY pop off the black and white background, don't they? That splash of color--love.
I don't make a ton of super-fancy cards, but this one looks fancy without being hard at all. I had-cut and layered a large and medium butterfly. A little twist of black mini sequin trim and some lime ribbon to bring out the green made my butterfly into a gorgeous focal point for an otherwise very, very simple card.
If you want to recreate this great basic layout, the background is 4 x 5.25 inches, the mat is 4.25 x 2.75 and the inside piece is 4 x 2.5 inches. It's a very versatile set of measurements. While I had everything out, I made another one, also using two butterflies but in shades of coral and yellow.
PRO TIP: if you like more intense color, you can use the Stampin' Blends to deepen hues and bring out whatever shade you want to play up!
Leave the wing tips unattached when you adhere the butterflies, so they pop off the paper literally as well as visually.
If you love this paper I have good news and bad news for you. The bad news is, it's not available to purchase. The good news is, it's free! That's right, you can get a pack of this gorgeous 12x12 butterfly and background assortment (see all the patterns here) for free with any $50 order during Stampin' Up's Sale-a-Bration 2019. Just order some fun crafty goodies at http://bit.ly/shopwithLyssa, then browse the available reward choices and select item #149622.
Most orders take a week or less to arrive. Then the party starts! And I send a handmade thank you card with every order, so you'll have TWO pieces of happy mail to look forward to. Hope I'll be writing YOUR name in a card very soon!
Beautiful cards. Love the black and white too, they really pop off the page.

Your butterfly cards are exquisite! Thank you for sharing them with your fans. Thank you, also, for the cute valentine card I received yesterday! I'll get mine out to you tomorrow. Hopefully it will be delivered even though you may be snowed in! I'd send you some warmth from Florida but it's only in the 40's here!
