I've been playing with Beauty Abounds again! This time I chose to focus on the flourish stamp, a stylized trumpet vine and flowers, and a monochromatic color scheme. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, mono-chrome means one color plus neutrals. In our case, intense Calypso Coral and it's lighter cousin Grapefruit Grove, with Whisper White.
Monchrome is a shortcut for instant elegance and harmony, which is why you'll often see it used on wedding or sympathy cards. I needed get well cards, so I used a sentiment from Dandelion Wishes to go with my flourishes.
Typically, the fancier the flourish, the more simple the font and layout need to be. Balancing the busyness with plenty of white space and solid areas are another technique that, like monochrome, keep things elegant instead of amateur.

I love seeing monochromatic cards, but never think to try one when I'm stamping...perhaps I'll need to challenge myself. :)
Love it!

Love your tips into what makes or breaks a card. Would like a place on your blog where I could go back and read the tips. I am fairly new to stamping so it is sometimes overwhelming, and I don’t remember everything. That is why it would be nice to go back to one place and reread your tips. Your tips are such a great help.
