Did you hear the awesome news? Stampin' Up's red rubber stamps come in a new CLING style! Stickier than ever, you'll love how these stamps cling to your clear blocks and NEVER fall off.
Because this new style works so perfectly not only for cling but also for storage, price and convenience, Stampin' Up is discontinuing their wooden block option. I always thought I was a wood girl, but the many reasons to switch to cling won me over--especially with this wonderful new development in improving the cling.
As with anything new, there are tricks to learn! Here's my four best reminders for you. You're going to LOVE these stamps!
Quick tips for the new CLING Stamps!
1. the stickers cannot be repositioned, so be extra careful to line it up when assembling the stamp in the beginning. Peel the backing off the stamp itself, then the backing off the sticker sheet, and then place the stamp onto the sheet. Use the "negative" around the edge of the sticker to help you place it perfectly every time.
2. the cling on these new stamps is SO good it can sometimes tear the foam, if you just grab it by the rubber to pull it off the block. Anything that damages the foam compromises the rubber's ability to stamp well. Always slide your fingernail underneath the sticker's edge and pull up the whole stamp like one piece, rather than grabbing it by the rubber.
3. DON'T rub the sticker with anything to make it less sticky, like fabric or dryer sheets. This is not a proven strategy long-term, not recommended by the company, and it would REALLY stink to have your stamps begin to fall off the blocks again!
4. If a stamp is genuinely a problem to peel off, (or you just don't have nails!) put a piece of plain scotch tape over the sticky on the bottom half of the stamp. The top half's sticky will be enough to make the stamp cling well, and you can easily peel the stamp off by sliding your finger under the smooth part made by the scotch tape.
