I am so enjoying the new five colors added for the new catalog! Every year I wait and wonder what they will be, and they are always surprising. But I was in Kohl's last week and sure enough--these really ARE the trendy colors this year! I wandered around mumbling to myself as I identified them--the sales lady probably thought I was a nutjob!
Just like there are trends in home decor and fashion, there are trends in the papercrafting world. And it's fun to have updated color palettes to play with. I spent some time making cards to show off the five new colors, which are in my store in 2 sizes of cardstock, ink pads and refills, markers, ribbon, patterned paper stacks and embellishments. So however you like to get your color fix, you're all set!
I always play favorites, and this year is no exception. I really like Pretty Peacock and Seaside Spray. I think I had enough "dusty rose" for a lifetime back in the 80's, so Rococo Rose is probably never going to be tops for me. Purple Posy is sweet but very light, which I like in cardstock but not in ink.
Terracotta Tile, however, surprised the socks off me--I actually really like it after playing with it a bit. It's a very soft reddish orange, not quite a clay pot color but not tangerine either.
All right, who's ready for a freebie? I've compiled a bunch of color combos using your existing colors plus one or more of the new In Colors. This will help you with a great jumping-off point for your next cardmaking session! Download 2019 2020 In Color Combos 1 and 2
I have more In Colors fun to share next week--be sure to stop back in (or subscribe to my once-a-week email!) so you remember to come back and get parts 3 & 4...
