Hello, scrappers! Welcome back to our 8th day of immersion-style scrapbooking, 2019 edition! I've committed to a whole month of glorious mess as I try to get a page a day done every day during August. Are you playing along? Hope so! If not, pin the ideas for later and just enjoy looking.
Today's inspiration page is a sweet and girly single page layout that mixes short snippets and strips of textiles and papers for a fun and unusual mat around a... you got it, it's a laser-cut card base! How fun is that?
I designed this page for my friend Penni and her adorably rosy-cheeked "mini me" daughter Anna, but its easy to personalize any page with the Family Party stamp set. It has just about every relation you can think of, plus a set of big numbers and lots of greetings. It's perfect for scrapping and you're definitely going to be seeing more pages using it this month!
Ready to recreate this fun layout at home? Here's what you'll need:
PRO TIP: Coordinating bits and pieces of this and that make a really interesting and unusual mat for photos--and use up tons of scraps! Alternate short and longer pieces and try to spread your color scheme around the entire area for the most pleasing visual effect. Give this technique a try on a page or card today.
Terracotta Tile is now firmly on my list of favorites, by the way! When it first was announced I was thinking we didn't need another shade of coral/orange. But... I absolutely love how it pairs with Petal Pink and just about any shade of green or blue. It really plays well with others, warming up color combos without overwhelming them. Do you have a "surprise" favorite color lately?
