How can this be Day 29 already?? Where did August go? Time flies when you're having FUN! And fun we are definitely having this month during the 31 Pages in 31 Days blog series and challenge. I am delighted so many of you worldwide are playing along, either scrapping with me or pinning ideas for later. Let's get those albums done!
So this was fun... I had a sheet of this adorable woodsy mushroom paper with a cute dotted print on the back, the end of a limited-edition paper pack from a while ago. It was going to be charming no matter what, but I like to think I added some cute touches to it that upped the whimsy even more!
This leaf/grass border was SO easy to do, and used up a ridiculous number of green scraps. it adds so much texture to the page, too!
I pondered how to bring some of that green and texture over to the left hand page, without actually doing the same thing (it felt like it would be too much). And I hit upon the idea of a little mini wreath made with the same punches! Also very easy and fun.
PRO TIP: For each wreath, you'll need eight Sprig punches in a dark green (I used Garden Green) plus three lighter green, cut apart (I used Soft Seafoam.) Arrange four in a grid, secured with Glue Dots, then arrange the next four to cover the "corners" of the original four. Tuck in some snippets of the lighter green sprigs anywhere there's a "bald" spot, or evenly spaced around the ring.
It turned out so cute, I couldn't resist making a card while I had all the supplies out.
My card is Christmas, but you could easily use this technique for fall or spring wreaths by changing out the color scheme or adding some tiny flowers. I sprinkled red rhinestones and metallic gold pearls around mine to make it festive.
Have I convinced you that you need the Sprig Punch by now? Hope so! It's one of those punches you wonder if you need, and then you wonder how you ever scrapped without it.
