Take the 31 Pages in 31 Days Challenge along with me! Each day in August 2019 I'll post a scrapbook layout or double-page spread as an inspiration. You can copy it, swipe some ideas, or just do your own thing. Here's today's inspiration!
I don't know what it is about Calypso Coral and Terracotta Tile--they just don't photograph well for love or money! I tried to fix it in Photoshop but it still looks off. Sorry about that! So while you may question my color combining abilities looking at this page, I assure you Calypso Coral and Grapefruit Grove go great together in real life. They are both HOT colors, so using COOL tones of Seaside Spray and White to tone them down is a must. Always pair HOT with COOL or the page just has too much energy and the viewer actually feels agitated instead of calm--not an emotion you want people feeling when they look at your albums!
Not too much to say about these pages except that here's another technique for using stamps as a headline. The sentiments in the Bloom & Grow set are quite large, which is great for scrapping, but you can further help pull out and highlight the title by elongating it with banners.
PRO TIP: Rather than just matting our headline, which gives it no more importance than a matted photo, we've set it off with a lot of "white" space, highlighted it with a die-cut in our accent color, added a long pennant-style banner behind it, and bracketed it with two large embellishments. Our little stamped saying is now the undisputed focal point of the spread.
My Scrapbooking Summer School participants are making this layout in their Week Three packet! Play along with them on your own with this supply list.
