Every year I have a large, four-month Christmas Club with 20+ ladies, and we generate a LOT of scraps! So I wound up with a huge pile of 3/4 inch strips of the Wrapped in Plaid holiday papers--and you know me, I wasn't about to throw them away!
So I used one of my favorite techniques for turning scraps into useful pieces, and adhered them to scratch cardstock. Once they're dry, you can use any dies to cut them into shapes or background mats. So pretty and SO useful! I love turning garbage into gorgeousness!
I used the Stitched Rectangles for mine, and mounted the piece on Crumb Cake cardstock (Shaded Spruce, Cherry Cobbler and Night of Navy would also be great choices.) The "quilted" look of the plaid on these cards was too pretty to cover up, so I just added a gold foil cardstock die-cut deer (from Detailed Deer) and kept it really simple.
Thanks for popping in today to read about my Christmas card adventures! Good luck with yours! And as always, if you want to copy any of my designs for your own cards this year, please go ahead. But let me know, because it makes me feel great when I hear that stampers have gained inspiration from my blog. It keeps me motivated to post more!
You are seriously a genius, Lyssa, when it comes to using scraps. I use your ideas all the time!
