The ideas just keep coming for everyone's favorite Sale-A-Bration stamp set and punch combo, Thoughtful Blooms! I am stuck on a bit of a purple craze with this set right now. Maybe some springy-ier colors will 'bloom' later in the year!
This card was inspired by an embroidered decorative handtowel my mom has in her bathroom. It says "bloom where you are planted" and each of the flowers is a different button from her grandmother's button box. It made me smile as I laid out my little row of garden!
This is also a great layout to use up scraps. The focal point strip is only 1.5 inches wide, and the sentiment strip is 1/2 and inch wide. So you can clean out a lot of your scrap bin using up pieces that otherwise might just go in the paper recycling bin.
During that same crafty session I made a lot of faux "one-sheet wonder" pieces. For a true one-sheet wonder, you stamp an entire sheet of cardstock with your design before cutting it apart and using the pieces on a bunch of different cards. My scraps were already cut up, so I just stamped an all-over pattern on a bunch of them at once.
TIP: the secret to a good one-sheet wonder is to start stamping in the middle and work your way off the edges. That way you don't have any awkward white spots trapped in the middle of the design where things didn't space out well. Start with your biggest stamps and work your way down to your smallest stamp to fill in any tiny areas.
