I was so taken with the gorgeous sample on page 16 of the new 2020-2021 Stampin' Up catalog (request one! Lyssa@songofmyheartstampers.com) that I just HAD to see if I could recreate it at home. It worked! And it doesn't even take super fancy supplies to make, either.

The first time I did this technique three fingers on my right hand were hot pink for three days afterward!
I did this technique live on Facebook, and I just found out how to take that Live and edit out a clip for a video. So here you go! Let's walk through making this cool background together. Our secret ingredient? Q-tips!!!
This technique will never turn out exactly the same way twice! And it will make you feel like an artist. I finished off my cards with sentiments from the Beautiful World stamp set, heat-embossed in Whisper White. Here's my supplies list so you can try it at home!

This last sample wasn't supposed to be diagonal... but I stamped and embossed the sentiment SO crookedly that I decided to cut the piece down. It turned out really cool, with the stark white contributing to both the ethereal mist and the depth of the purple. Fun!
