As many of you have heard by now, I took a spectacular fall off a ladder on Saturday morning at the studio. I was hurriedly hanging up a banner outside for the start of our holiday pop-up shop, and missed a rung. i wound up flat on my back on the sidewalk with my head in the parking space.
So far we have one broken elbow, one broken wrist discovered two days later, and one bunged-up knee, with more xrays and possible surgery to come. OUCH! And you oughtta see the bruise on my backside, lol!!!
The good news is, of course, I did not hit my head, there were lots of helpers around, and there was no car in that parking space! And I'm thankful for friends and family that have brought over food, picked up groceries and taken me to appointments.
But I'm not going to lie--this sucks. It HURTS. And I'm bored!
So I sit on my couch with my ice packs and my guinea pigs (they love my sling. They think Mommy now carries a permanent piggie house with her at all times!) and consume platters of Christmas cookies all by myself (not as much fun as it sounds!).
Since I can't stamp, lift, drive, unpack boxes, or even type, there is nothing going on in the studio for December and probably part or all of January. Yes, this is me being whiny!
Stay healthy, take care, and avoid ladders, friends! Thanks for your forbearance as I muddle through the next few weeks.
Oh my goodness! I will send thoughts and prayers (I gasped on a work call....oops)! Time to check out the local library....I guess.
